The article first made a systematic exposition of domestic and international transportationeconomic theory research and evaluation, introduced the basic situation of transportation andindustrial development of the four provinces of the Xijiang River. Analysis the relevance oftransportation and industrial development of the Xijiang River, through canonical correlationanalysis and regression analysis. The study concluded that: the volume of passenger and railway mileage is very closecontact to industrial development indicators, the most significant impact on GDP and industrialadded value. First,Transport on the four provinces had an impact on GDP. Passenger turnover ofthe largest role. Guangdong and the entire basin GDP negatively correlated with cargo turnover, because the secondary industry, tertiary industry was negatively correlated with the cargoturnover. Yunnan inland waterways of the largest role, other provinces and the whole valleyrailway operating mileage of the largest role. Second, transportation industry, the development ofthe first catalytic role. Passenger turnover of the largest role. Guangdong and the entirewatershed primary industry and passenger traffic showed a negative correlation, indicating thatthe first industry in Guangdong lower. Yunnan, Guizhou inland waterways of the largest role,Guangxi, Guangdong and the entire valley railway operating mileage of the largest role. Third, transportation for the development of secondary industry can promote. Guangxi role of thelargest cargo turnover of the remaining provinces and the whole basin passenger turnover of thelargest role. Yunnan inland waterways of the largest role, and the remaining three provinces andthe whole valley railway operating mileage of the largest role. Fourth, transportation on thedevelopment of tertiary industry can promote. Passenger turnover of the largest role. Guangdongand the entire watershed of the tertiary industry and the cargo turnover negatively correlated, indicating the proportion of tertiary industry in Guangdong larger, while the increase in cargoturnover does not promote the tertiary industry especially in the service sector, led by thefinancial sector development. Yunnan inland waterways of the largest role, and the remainingthree provinces and the whole valley railway operating mileage of the largest role. The article is part of policy recommendations to promote the Xijiang River transportdevelopment: the integration of transport infrastructure, transport space rationalization of the network layout, information technology, sustainable development.
