Research On Regional Economic Disparities And Influencing Factors In Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region

The regional disparity is an inevitable phenomenon in the process of economicdevelopment. As the area of economy of annulus Bohai core layer, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebeiregion has become the third economic growth pole after the Yangtze River Delta and PearlRiver Delta. But there exists a significant imbalance in the process of economicdevelopment, binary structure is obvious. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the statusquo of regional economic disparities and influencing factors of regional economicdisparities, and give out some workable suggestions in order to reduce the regionaleconomic disparities. According to the characteristics of the subject, this thesis is studiedby combining qualitative analysis and quantitative research, normative analysis andempirical analysis.Firstly, this thesis reviews the research achievements about regional economicdisparities at home and abroad, defines the concept of regional economy and regionaleconomic disparities, and then has a more in-depth analysis to regional disequilibriumtheory which is closely related to the paper.Secondly, this paper use single-target approach and comprehensive evaluation indexsystem to conduct a comprehensive and objective research. The current situation of theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional economic disparities and development of per capita GDPis analyzed by standard deviation, variation coefficient and Theil coefficient. On this basis,build comprehensive evaluation index system，using principal component analysis (pca) toobtain the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional economic strength value. The study indicate thatthe comprehensive economic level is not seriously balanced in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebeiregional economy, the absolute disparities in regional economy are gradually expanding,but the relative disparities are slowly narrow.Then, carry on the thorough analysis with the influence factors of theBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional economic disparities, use panel data model to do thequantitative analysis with economic growth, calculate their contributions to the regionaldisparities. The results shows that, capital investment, industrial structure, opening degree are significantly positively related to economic growth, but the influence degree isdifferent. The tertiary industry is the main cause of regional disparities changes.At the end, according to the relevant economic theory and the actual situation ofBeijing-Tianjin-Hebei, we give out some workable suggestions in order to reduce theregional economic disparities.
