The Research Of Industrial Clusters’ Impact On Regional Innovation Capacity Based On Life Cycle

From the last century, the study of industrial clusters has become a hot issue ofeconomic geography and regional economics. Furthermore, the related scholars havedone comprehensive researches on the phenomenon of industrial clusters fromdifferent angles and ranges. After years of development, the people have not onlyobtained the results of theoretical research, but also used this regional economicdevelopment form to promote the local economy level in many areas. It is generallybelieved that the regional innovation system which is formed in the process ofindustrial cluster development is conducive to enhance regional innovation capacityand promote regional economic development. Conversely, the regional economicdevelopment also promotes the industrial cluster actors to carry out technicalinnovation with the aim of enjoying economies of agglomeration. But the domesticstudies of the impact of industry clusters upon regional innovation ability are still inthe primary stage, which virtually weak the guidance for actual economic activity.In view of current research status, this paper begins the study with the recognitionof industrial clusters. Then a research is conducted on the impact of industrial clusterupon regional innovation ability through the division of the life cycle of industrialclusters. Firstly, this paper finds out the reference and deficiency of the existingresearch based on the analyzing induction of the life cycle of industrial clusterscorrelation theory and the impact of industrial clusters upon regional innovation abilitycorrelation theory. After finishing that, the author can grasp the specification of thisresearch. Secondly, this paper makes the technology innovation factor as an importantfactor of industrial clusters’ recognition and constructs the location quotient compositeindex which includes industrial value, enterprise number, employees’ concentrationand technology innovation ability. The index is obtained by the comparison of existingindustry cluster identification methods. Thirdly, this paper further explores the drivingfactors and action process of industrial cluster’s evolution. At the same time, the stagefeatures of industry cluster’s life cycle are highly detailed. Then, combining with theintrinsic motivation and mechanism of industrial clusters impact regional innovationcapability, this paper respectively builds the industrial cluster’s life cycle divisionmodel based on a threshold autoregressive and the model of the impact of industrycluster upon regional innovation ability based on the basis of production function andprinciple of industrial cluster of regional innovation capability impact model. Finally,this paper selects universal equipment manufacturing at Yangtze River Delta as theobject of the empirical research. Furthermore, this paper puts forward suggestions to improve the regional innovative ability by combining with the empirical results andrelated experience.
