Research On The Correlation Between Border Trade And Economic Growth Of Heilongjiang Province

As the rapid development of border trade in Heilongjiang Province, the economyhas also been substantial growth in Heilongjiang Province. Firstly, it uses the data ofboth border trade and economic growth in Heilongjiang Province from1996to2011.And it analyzes that the border trade has taken the role of economic growth inHeilongjiang Province in these years. Besides the advantage of Heilongjiang Provinceto develop border trade will be found. And then it makes a brief analysis of bordertrade having economic effect on economic growth. On the basis of that, three sets ofdata of border trade and border export trade and border imports trade and GDP inthese years of Heilongjiang Province is used to process the cointegration regressionanalysis and the Granger causality test of these sets of data. The result shows thatthese sets of data are cointegrated, and the border trade and border export trade andborder imports trade significantly have a positive effect on GDP, but according to theresult of Granger causality test, it turns out that only the two border trade and theborder exports have the one-way causal relationship with economic growth, and thatthe change of the border trade and the border trade exports will cause the change ofGDP in Heilongjiang Province.On the basis of the empirical results, it puts forward some countermeasures andrecommendations from the viewpionts of the truth of the characteristics anddevelopment needs of Heilongjiang Province and advancing the border trade and theborder exports in Heilongjiang Province. Firstly, it is necessary to optimize thestructure of export commodities of the border exports trade through improving thetechnical content and adding value of labor-intensive products and innovation anddeveloping new products to promote the border exports trade. Secondly, anotherrecommendation is to support cross-border trade the development of enterprises withthe help of the government providing financial support and relax lending conditions todevelop arious forms of cross-border trade enterprises. Thirdly, it is rather importantto improve border trade protection mechanisms by the establishment of border tradesettlement center and so on. Finally, it is also vital to improve the construction ofborder crossings. Then we could provide good conditions for the sustained and stabledevelopment of the border trade. With the four-point proposal, development of bordertrade can be promote healthy and orderly, and then economic growth in theHeilongjiang Province will also be promoted.
