The Harmonious Social Enterprise Environmental Responsibility Research

Enterprises play irreplaceable role in our society by produce public goods, andgenerate social wealth. But on the other hand, it creates social nuisance, environmentalpollution, harms health, and depletes natural resources. This article argues that thecorporate impact on environment based on its social influence, economic strength andtechnological advancement. Although in the past30years, China has achieved greatimprovement on its economical development, they have also paid a painful price bycreating hostile ecological environment which affects our daily lives. The Chineseenterprises’ environmental and social responsibilities are as following: weakenvironmental awareness by believing environmental resources are unlimited, tries tomaximize their profit by placing profit before environment protection. Enterprises donot care about the environmental impacts and pass problems to the public. This needs tobe changed.The article gives detailed explanations and analysis on the conflict betweenenterprises interests and environmental protection."Anthropocentrism" has seriouslymisinterpreted and believed that nature has only instrumental value and neglects moralconcern. Enterprises should pay more attentions to changes in "economy" to "ecology",and establish sustainable strategies to replace traditional concepts. If the society can notsustain its development, enterprises also will not have stability. Enterprises socialresponsibility is not just to create wealth to the society; they should also actively takeenvironmental responsibility, effectively protect the environment which helps sustaindevelopment, and achieve common harmonious in environmental society. The articlemainly uses a combination of scientific studies and examples to explain thephilosophical environmental theories’ impact on the enterprises’ environmentalresponsibility. It also extends understanding of corporate environmental responsibilityby studying cases from the United States, Japan, and other top tier ecological friendlycountries. So Chinese enterprises will have better understanding of the currentenvironment issues; make improvements to its traditional model, and develops goodeconomical cycle. This economical development model is the only path to achieve theecological balance, and build a harmonious society in China.
