Global value chains is a global cross-enterprise network organization, whichincludes the value of goods or services connected to the production, sale and recyclingprocess that involves from the acquisition of raw materials and transportation, theproduction of semi-finished and finished products and distribution until finalconsumptionand the recovery of the whole process, involving all participants in theproduction and sales activities of the organization and its value profit distribution. Theglobal value chain, part of the R&D and marketing chain of high-end value of80%-90%of the total profits, the middle of the processing sectors only get10%-20%ofthe profits.The Beijing Foreign investment began in1979, Beijing Friendship BusinessServices Corporation and Maruichi Shoji Co., Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, the city’s firstforeign enterprises in Beijing and Co., Ltd., a joint venture set up in Tokyo and hasnow gone through the course of the past30years. Although foreign investment beganearlier, but the current foreign-invested enterprises in Beijing in the global value chainare at the low end of the middle of processing production processes, and can only geta very small profit, in order to obtain the value chain upgrade and enhance the statusof the global value chain,Beijing enterprises urgently need to select the appropriatemode of investment, requires not only successful in global value chains, and as soonas possible to climb up the value chain, this article tries to present mode of foreigninvestment in Beijing in the global value chain, to provide theoretical guidance forBeijing enterprises out.This paper first describes the current situation of foreign investment in the globalvalue chain, from the status of the foreign direct investment in China, Beijing foreigninvestment in the status quo, and foreign-invested enterprises in Beijing in the globalvalue chain three aspects specifically addressed; then use the theoretical analysis ofthe global value chain analyze Beijing foreign investment in the dynamic due, thenconducte classification of foreign investment mode conducted, the traditional and thenew type of foreign investment mode from the impact of the global value chainembedded Beijing enterprises, Beijing enterprises competitive force impact on theenterprise value chain upgrades as well as on the resources integrated four specificanalysis, followed by the use of a structural equation model and internationalcompetitiveness indicators to evaluate the competitiveness of enterprises in Beijing, and based on the above analysis, factors from both the micro and macro aspects offoreign investment in Beijing briefly analysis, foreign investment, and Beijing TongRen Tang case under review, and finally asked the Beijing foreign investment patternsin the global value chain, and make recommendations.
