With the development of economic globalization, worldwide trade and investment have become more and more popular. At the same time, the structure of international division has been accelerated, and division among different industries has turned to inter-industry division and inter-product division. This makes taches of value creation disperse in different countries and areas and global value chains gradually formed and developed. However, global value chains offer opportunities for developing countries to engage in worldwide taches of value creation and to improve their industrial international competitiveness.This thesis focuses on the issue of industrial international competitiveness based on global value chains and put forwards a framework in theory to analyze it. It tries to find the effect of global value chains on industrial international competitiveness and the effect of dynamic strategic actions on the optimization of global value chains, even the improvement of industrial international competitiveness. Through this, we can find some ways to improve industrial international competitiveness from the respect of global value chains.The thesis first points out that the existing configuration of global value chains has direct effect on the international competitiveness of some industry in a country and the enterprises in this industry. What's more, the key point to optimize the configuration of global value chains is to master the strategic tache, that is, try to enhance its market power. Then, it furthermore concludes through analysis that, strategic actions regarding enterprises, industries and countries are always based on the existing configuration of global value chains, and they at the same time affect future configuration of global value chains through the formation of market power. Therefore, they can affect the international competitiveness of some industry in a country and of the enterprises in this industry. At last, the thesis refers to some cases respectively from the layer of some enterprise, some industry and some country to test our framework. Moreover, it reaches a conclusion that the government of a country, industries in this country and enterprises in this industry should take some relevant strategic actions to induct its configuration of global value chains to develop in the direction of improving its industrial international competitiveness.
