Research On The Development Of Beef Cattle Industry In Henan Province

Henan Province is a major agricultural province in China and is also a big province in livestock supply. Beef industry is the mainstay industry in animal husbandry.Henan Province is located in the central plains in China.Its climate is very suitable for the growth of crops and it has become a key national transportation hub because of its good location. There is a large population in our province and the rural population accounts for most,which provides the aquaculture market and labor resources to the development of beef cattle industry.So the beef cattle industry of our province is developing rapidly.However, there are also some problems to be solved. Now the dispersive farmers account for the major part in our beef industry, so the problems begin to appear, such as the simple and extensive production method, low level development in modernization, lack of technical personnel and so on. We need to solve these problems which can affect the development of the beef cattle industry in our province. This article uses grey correlation analysis system to analyze the factors affecting the development of beef cattle industry in our province. This paper analyzes the factors that can influence the development of Henan beef cattle industry with the gray correlation system analysis method. Analysis points out that the level of income of urban residents, urban residents’consumption expenditure of meat, eggs and milk, corn production have a great influence on the development of the beef industry in Henan Province and have become the major factors. Based on the above analysis,this paper puts forward the corresponding conclusions and countermeasures.This paper is divided into five parts and is mainly an empirical analysis on the current situation, problems and influencing factors of the beef industry in Henan Province. The main research contents are as follows:The first part introduces the research background and significance, reviews the related literature, based on the grey system theory and the industrial organization theory, elaborates the research purpose, research contents and research methods.The second part analyzes the current situation of the beef cattle industry in Henan province and describes the status of breeding, processing, circulation, consumption of the beef cattle.The third part combines the current situation of the beef cattle industry in Henan Province, analyzes the problems in the development of the beef cattle industry in Henan province and points out the causes. Poor equipments, behindhand production and breeding way,weak capacity of promoting development of the leading enterprises severely restraint the development of the beef cattle industry.The fourth part analyzes the factors affecting the beef cattle industry in Henan Province. By quantitative analysis of the major factors of the beef cattle industry in Henan with the gray correlation analysis system method, it comes to the conclusion that income of urban residents, urban residents’consumption expenditure of meat,eggs and milk, the total number of species of livestock and poultry farms, corn production, GDP index directly affecte the development of the beef cattle industry. Total number of employees of township animal husbandry and veterinary stations, rural residents’ per capita beef consumption and other factors less affect the development of the beef industry.The fifth chapter summarizes the full paper and puts forward the policies and recommendations to promote the development of the beef cattle industry in Henan Province.
