The Survey On Present Situation Of Beef Industry Of Jilin Province

Ji Lin province is a big province of beef cattle industry, which is located in the center ofnortheast beef cattle industry. With the rapid development of economy, the structure of animalhusbandry industry has changed dramatically. The breeding of Beef cattle has become theleading and pillar industry of animal husbandry. A sharp decline has appeared in the amount ofbeef cattle and basis cows on hand in recent years. And the prices of beef tend to soar. Thedevelopment of beef cattle industry is facing with enormous challenges. As a big province ofbeef cattle industry, the key problems of developing beef cattle industry in Ji Lin province arehow to adjust the development and provide new ideas in the future.In this paper, the amount of keeping cattle、trading volume、changes in market prices、cattlebreeding conditions、raising conditions and waste disposal were investigated through a variety ofways of field investigation and literature analysis during2008to2012in Ji Lin Province.Compared production conditions of beef cattle at home with those abroad in the same period,the main problems and the corresponding development suggestions existing in the developmentof beef cattle industry in Ji Lin province were put forward:1The amount of keeping beef cattle tends to reduce year by year. The prices of beef tend tosoar and the purchasing power of people is insufficient. A lot of cows were slaughtered andprompted a sharp decline in the number of cows to make a serious shortage in beef cattle herds;2A large number of beef cattle were transported to other provinces after the transaction inthe cattle market, which aroused a sharp decrease in the interest of main production area. Takethe Five Tree cattle market as an example, Beef exports accounted for about40%of the totaltrading annually.3Ji Lin province is rich in resources, possessing mountains, mid levels areas, grassland,meadow and so on,which leads to the diversity of feeding patterns in beef cattle, butstandardization level of cattle breeding is not high;4Promote the development of industry、strengthen the construction of sources、protectbasis cows、enhance the standardization level of beef cattle、promote the progress in science andtechnology of beef cattle industry、ensure continuous beef supply in Ji Lin Province、Raisepeople’s living standards、 Protect the environment and ecology、 make the sustainabledevelopment combine agriculture with husbandry...
