Economic Development In The Region Gathered Daur

Daur is one of the55ethnic minorities in China, with a total population of132,400, mainly distributed in the Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner in Inner Mongolia, Meilisi Daur District of Qiqihar in Heilongjiang Province and Tacheng Prefecture in Xinjiang. Daur has a long history and splendid culture, from the north of fighting against Tsardom of Russia with fortitude, south of farming diligently along the Nen River, to the northwest of guarding the border for the country, finally to today’s ethnic harmony and prosperous life, for thousands of years, Daur has never faded charms, and has already become a bright pearl in the big family of Chinese nation.With the deepening of reform and opening, Daur welcomed the historical opportunity in economic developments, which has brought great achievements in Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and Xinjiang. But similar with most of the minorities, Daur inhabited region has the features of inland, border and highland, also influenced by the environment and historical factors, and the economic development level still lags behind. With the tide of reform and opening, the economy pattern has transformed into type of multi-industrial from simple farming and herding, but the industrial structure is to be optimized, the ethnic education should be improved, the resource advantage has not been totally displayed, the ecological environment is fragile, and the economic growth remains slow. Above all are in need of reforming and improving.Under the above background, this paper selects Inner Mongolia Hulun Buir Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Heilongjiang Qigihar Meilisi Daur District and Xinjiang Tacheng Asir Daur Ethnic Townships, three regions, through near one-year investigation by research visits and collecting related historical documents, from the points of population profile, production process, cultural characteristics, living standards and resource advantages, then describes the history and present situation of Daur ethnic economy.After studying investigation documents, this paper accords to the ethnic economic theory, learns from the experience of economic developments in other minority areas, compares the traditional agro-pastoral production with modern production, then points out critical problems of the slow growth of the Daur economy and provides effective strategies in resolving them. Focusing on the development of industry, urban and rural construction, national culture education and ecological protect of Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, this paper puts specific ideas for economic developments for making some contribution to the development of Daur economic society.
