Vegetable Production Management And Tracing System Using RFID And Barcode Technology For The Internet Of Things

Being one of our daily necessities, farm products play an important role in a wide varietyof food in China. With a view to establishing quality supervision system, setting qualitydetecting index, promulgating standard methods and regulations for pesticide residue testing,China has long been placing importance on the quality and safety of vegetables. Nevertheless,incidents concerning the problems of quality of farm products occur from time to time. Eventhe problems can be found, it is very difficult to trace the source.With the rapid economic development and high living standard, some agricultural productproduction enterprises have been established with good operational system, providing largerplanting areas and advanced assemble line for processing. Similar to factory management, allproducts are produced by unified standard. Compared to individual farmers and RuralCooperatives, these enterprises conduct regular production process, record vital informationand provide data for consumers and supervision departments to trace the source or anythingrelated to the products.As a farm product production company, Guangzhou Golden Farm Limited (hereafter beshorted as Golden Farm) operates like a factory farm, where large-scale and standardizingproduction is managed. This paper will take Golden Farm as an example, analyzing theproduction procedure and traceability system of food safety. Grounded on the circumstancesof vegetable production, a reasonable and feasible traceability scheme, which can becompatible with other standard traceability systems and used in normal production procedure,will be built. This paper is divided into three major sections:1. Analyze the process of vegetable production Taking Golden Farm as the target for myresearch, I am going to analyze the production procedure of the farm products under thefactory management. Regarded as a main factor for the practicability of ManufactureTraceability System and production management, the procedure should be taken intoconsideration.2. Design a traceability schemeFirst of all, study the food safety traceability system in China. Then, design anappropriate traceability scheme in accordance with the real situation in Golden Farm,including the traceability methods and the modes of the production data. Based on thetraceability scheme, the traceability system and the production management, a reform for thefarm production procedure will also be proposed.3. System design and operation According to the production procedure and the traceability scheme, this paper willpresent an analysis of the function of the production management and traceability system; anddesign the structure of the system, the operation procedure, the sub-modules and the database.
