Rich resources and cheap labor has been manufacturingin China to participate in international competition advantage. This kind of comparativeadvantage of low labor costs on the one hand, seriously hindered the technologicalprogress and industrial structure upgrading, on the other hand also weakens theproduction enthusiasm of the laborer, influence the improvement of labor productivity.Although, our country has become a manufacturing power, but not intomanufacturing powerhouse, this is mainly due to the development of our country stillrelies mainly on labor-intensive manufacturing industries, while capital and technologyintensive industry, especially the development of high technology industry is relativelybackward, manufacturing science and technology innovation ability is not strong, scienceand technology and economic development does not adapt, these all seriously restrictingthe sustainable development of China’s manufacturing industry internationalcompetitiveness.In recent years, with the rapid development of our economy and the arrival of lewisturning point, wages rose has become the long-term stable trend, the comparativeadvantage of China’s manufacturing labor costs low is also in gradually disappear. Secondly,in-depth analysis of system the wages rise mechanism of the impact of industry international competitiveness, that wages rise in the short term mainly through promotinglabor costs as well as finished goods prices affect the international competitiveness ofmanufacturing industry. But in the long run, rising wages will motivates employees,improve the quality of the workers and promote the optimization and upgrading ofindustrial structure to have positive effect on the international competitiveness ofmanufacturing industry. Then, by collecting relevant statistics, in recent years ourcountry manufacturing industry labor productivity, industrial manufactured goodsexports increment and the change of export structure empirical analysis on the experience,as wages rise, improve the labor productivity in manufacturing in China, the export ofmanufactured goods incremental has fallen, at the same time, the labor-intensiveproducts account for the proportion of manufactured goods exports shrinking, replacedby the capital and technology-intensive products an increasing proportion ofmanufactured goods exports.
