The article focuses on the characteristic of China’s economic structure. Wedocument that the state-owned enterprises have a dominant presence in capital-intensiveindustries relative to the privately-owned enterprises; and the privately-owned enterpriseshave a dominant presence in labor-intensive industries relative to the state-ownedenterprises. We also document that the strength of the privately-owned enterprises isexpanding in both capital-intensive industries and labor-intensive industries throughregression analysis. Finally the thesis analyzed the origin of the conformation of thiseconomic structure. It document that the low cost of capital and the high cost of laborcause the conformation of this economic structure.
