The current competition between manufacturing enterprises is not only productioncapacity, product quality and product price competition. The competition is almostthroughout the entire supply chain system. In order to occupy a favorable position in thefierce competition and gain a competitive advantage, enterprises must establish strategiccooperative relations between the upstream and downstream companies. Especially thegood communications with the downstream distributors, which can make enterprises,predict the changes in the market accurately. The main purpose of product inventorymanagement is buffering the uncertainty and sudden which will lead changes ofproduction scale, price and seasonal demand in enterprise’ production and sales.Firstly, this paper analyzed the status of TK Company’s product inventorymanagement. Based on the actual product inventory, we block out a plan and start theproject. According to the theory of supply chain and project management, analyze theprogress of the project implementation, to ensure timely completion of projects,reasonable allocation of resources and the best working efficiency. Then the paperanalyzed and researched the content of project activity definition, activity sequencing,and activity duration estimating and so on. In addition we also has carried on the riskmanagement to the project, will be maximize the positive factors and minimize thenegative factors in the process of project implementation.Through the implementation of the project perfected the TK company informationmanagement system, improved the standardization of product inventory managementlevel, optimize the enterprise VMI control strategy, improve the enterprise inventorymanagement system specification, strengthen the cooperation with strategic partners,and implements the collaborative product market forecasting, etc. It was important toenhance the TK company timeliness of decision-making, improve the precision ofmarket forecasting and determine the critical point of product safety stock management.
