Research On The Development Of Rice Industrialization In Lianhua County

Agricultural modernization is of great significance to national modernization. Food production is the most important part of agriculture and food is closely relevant to the national security and social stability. Jiangxi is the most important agricultural province. Consequently, it has been the first priority in this province to promote the industrialization of food production. Rice is the major grain crops in Jiangxi province, while Lianhua County is one of the most important food-producing counties in Jiangxi. This paper, based on the criteria collected in an on-the-spot investigation, deals with the problems existing in the food industrialization in this county and suggests some solutions to them.The primal problems include:1.The agricultural infrastructure is rather weak, with a68%of low-productive fields, which needs immediate actions to improve.2. There are not any big leading corporations producing food and oil. The existing ones are rather small and have low producing capacity.3. There are not adequate non-profit experimental bases for new breeds, and the existing bases are slow in spreading their new breeds for its poor equipments used in growing seedlings.4. Farmers are not active in planting rice because it takes a long term to benefit from it and the benefits are rather low. The farmers need to improve their qualities for farming. There is still a large amount of lands unutilized to their full use.The main solutions to these problems include:1. Improve the low-productive fields through strengthening the leading function of government.2. Stress the leading position of the leading corporations and establish a group with high industrialization with local features, thus forming a line of growing, harvesting, purchasing and processing.3. Better the new breeds developing and their popularization and try every possible means to develop new, high-rice varieties of high quality.4. Try to prolong the industrial chain to promote the development of corporations of all levels and to increase the income of the farmers who grow rice.
