During the rapid developing information era, employees have been regarded as the subject oforganizational learning, organizational development, organizational innovation and organizational reform,they are being a key factor of enterprise survival, and constantly keep the core competitiveness. However,due to the improper leadership, many employees who have known the problems in the organization stillremain silence, which hinder the transverse and longitudinal information communication, which eventuallyled to the organization on the verge of dilemma losing the best time to improve efficiency in operation. Inorder to explore the influence factors of employees’ silence behavior, this study adopts questionnairesurvey to investigate303employees in3enterprises from Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, and Xinxiang. This paper isto study the effect of authoritarian leadership exerts on employees’ silence behavior, and the mediating roleof organization-based self-esteem.The results show that:1. In the variance analysis of the demographic variable on employees’ silence behavior, employeesdon’t have significant difference in the three aspects of education, age and job age, but there are significantdifferences in gender.2. Authoritarian leadership exerts a significantly positive effect on employees’ silence behavior.3. Organization-based self-esteem exerts a significantly negative effect on employees’ silencebehavior.4. Organization-based self-esteem partly mediates the relationship between authoritarian leadershipand acquiescence silence; organization-based self-esteem partly mediates the relationship betweenauthoritarian leadership and disregard silence; organization-based self-esteem doesn’t mediate therelationship between authoritarian leadership and defensive silence.Finally, the results are discussed and explained, and limitations and future research were pointed aswell. According to the results of this research, we put forward the corresponding countermeasures andSuggestions.
