As a dimension of Paternalistic leadership, Authoritarian leadership iswidespread in Chinese business organizations. While Authoritarian leadership wasconsidered to be a negative leadership behaviors which will harm employee’motivation, cause negative psychological and behavioral responses, The studies haveshown that Authoritarian leadership still has its positive effect in Chineseorganizations. To answer this contradictory issues, delve into the influence betweenAuthoritarian leadership and employees’ psychological and behavioral in modernChinese organization, this study attempts to investigate the relationship betweenAuthoritarian leadership and Employee silence on the basis of the moderntransformation of the authoritarian leadership constructs, and to research themediating role of psychological empowerment. This study attempts to establish amodel of Authoritarian leadership, Psychological empowerment and Employeesilence.This paper uses the tools of literature research, questionnaire survey andstatistical analysis to analysis the study theoretical model. Firstly, we check out thedocumentation which is about study variables, and summarize the results of previousstudies, then propose the assuming and theoretical model of the study. Secondly, wedesign and distribution the questionnaire. The questionnaires are mainly filled by theemployees who come from Zhejiang, Beijing, Guangxi and other Provinces on theInternet. Finally, we use SPSS to analysis the valid questionnaire data. The analysisincludes descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, validity analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis. we obtain the following conclusions: Thefirst, Juan-Chiuan leadership and Shang-Yan leadership can predict Employees silencesignificantly, Juan-Chiuan leadership can forward predict Employees silence, andShang-Yan leadership can negative predict Employees silence. The second,Juan-Chiuan leadership and Shang-Yan leadership can predict Psychological empowerment significantly, Juan-Chiuan leadership can negative predictPsychological empowerment, and Shang-Yan leadership can forward predictPsychological empowerment. The third, Psychological empowerment can forwardpredict Employees silence. The fourth,Psychological empowerment is a mediatingvariable about Authoritarian leadership and Employees silence.Based on the above discussion and empirical analysis, the possible innovationsand significance of the study are as follows: First of all, this study research thebehavior of Authoritarian leadership in Chinese organizations, which can help toenrich the localization researches of Authoritarian leadership; Secondly, this studyconsiders the modern transformation of Authoritarian leadership to explore the effectsof Authoritarian leadership for Employees silence; The final, this study use thePsychological empowerment as a mediating variable, which can further enrich theempirical research of leadership behavior and employee attitudes.
