Since the reform and opening policy, the development of the SMEs①in China has beenbooming, and has become a strong driving force and source of the whole economy. It solvesthe slow economic development, employment difficulty and unstable economy. But difficultfinancing restrains the developing of the SMEs. Recently, domestic scholars have madecontinuous efforts on this problem. In the process, domestic scholars began to notice that theSMEs’ financing comes from the supply chain. As a part of the supply chain, the SMEs needto start from the whole supply chain for solving the problem.Supply chain finance changes enterprises’ inventories into funds and fills the SMEs’ gapof supply chain with the credit of the core businesses from the view of the whole supply chain.It is an optimized process of the availability of funds and cost. This optimization is mainlythrough information flow within the supply chain for the collection, integration, and the use ofpackaging process, the embedded cost analysis, cost management, and various financingmethods. Through the building of the supply chain, the SMEs solve the high risk, high costproblem and so on. Recently, supply chain finance is becoming a new financial service of thecommercial banks. From the overall perspective, the supply chain finance analyses thecharacteristics of industries and the relationship between the chain and to set a reasonableeffective financing plan and put money into the supply chain, so that creating efficiententerprises financing platform for the SMEs and providing sufficient funds for thedevelopment of the SMEs.This report start from the present situation of the supply chain finance development athome and abroad to expound supply chain financial prospects. It analyses the positive role ofsupply chain finance for the SMEs. It combines the difficulties existing in the development ofthe SMEs in our country, including government policies, commercial banks and the SMEs,and sums up the cause of the slow development of the SMEs in our country. With theapplication of supply chain finance, it concludes the corresponding countermeasures from theabove several aspects.
