Rural tourism is that happen in the country of rural cultural landscape (agriculturalproduction and rural settlements) as the main activities, this is a new kind of tourism form.Almost at the same period of urbanization, tourism activities in human begins since there isrural tourism activities. the true sense of the rural tourism is appears in the mid and late of19thcentury, this kind of tourism form get vigorous development after the second world war.Village is the key of the rural tourism, is to be able to meet the needs of people eager to returnto nature of body and mind [1]. Entering the21st century, under development of the ruraleconomy in our country,the rural tourism around city development gradually prosper,"livefarm house, eat farm meals, do farm work, enjoy farm peasant " has gradually become a newtrend of urban residents travel. Rural tourism as a connection of urban and rural, graduallynarrowing the difference of economic development between urban and rural, with greatsignificance of optimizing the rural industrial structure, promoting rural economy, society andthe sustainable development of environment and culture. In this paper, selection of hengyangas the research content of the rural tourism development, for rural tourism development in theregion has a realistic significance. Hengyang as a national important tourist city, it is a placehas rich tourism resources, has a great deal of natural landscape and human landscape. Inresponse to emerging tourism and driving the local economic development,although hengyangcountryside tourism start early, but there is still the overall planning of single, lack of tourismproducts,entertainment features, imperfect of infrastructure, which is a large extent restricted ofthe hengyang countryside tourism development. in this paper, take this opportunity to presentsituation of rural tourism in hengyang, from micro to macro research of hengyang,analysisrural tourism development of gain and loss, and combining with the characteristics of differentregions to choosing different pattern comparison research, this thesis in hengyang city socialeconomy condition, resources condition and the present situation of rural tourism, analyzedadvantages and disadvantages for the development of rural tourismon the basis of a detailedunderstanding of hengyang city, to explore suitable for hengyang countryside tourism development model. Main content is as follows: the first chapter the introduction part mainlyrural tourism at home and abroad to study and research purposes, research methods andresearch ideas of this article. Through investigation of hengyang country casestudies,literature collection, comparative reference, case analysis method, ensure the pertinenceof essay writing.The second chapter mainly carries on the analysis about the present situationof rural tourism in hengyang. Analyzed the farmhouse garden, sightseeing orchard, scenichotel,garden hotel, etc four development patterns.
