The Chinese Family Business Governance Research Based On Confucian Culture

Family business has been a form of economic organizations with a long history.,it shows strong vitality and has made great contribution in every country. Althoughthe proportion of family business in different state is different, family business has gotattention of the government. In the top500enterprises some belongs to families. Aswell longevity of family business differs, someone has been inherited fromgenerations to generations. Take the Shujin Spring Hotel in Japan for example, it wasbuilt in718and has inherited by40generations in more than1400years. Since theancient time, the Chinese family business has been born, it has been subjected tosuppression in certain extent at the beginning of the foundation of the new China, butour family business restarts to revitalize with the reform go on and made a greatcontribution for the Chinese economic and social stability. Meanwhile there are someproblems in its governance.The scholars have agreed that culture influents business governance. Confucianculture was founded by Confucius and carried forward by his disciples and successors,especially after Dong Zhongshu, became the ruling thought and developed since then,it discusses every aspect of life and influents Chinese deeply. In Confucian’s opinionsgovernance of country、family、enterprise is the same in theory but different in thenumber and range. Chinese family business influenced by Confucian is powerful buthard-inheriting, we should analyze the reasons. If the success or failure of our familybusiness is related to Confucian、how to use Confucian、if we should just copywestern modern enterprise system, all the problems are confronted by Chinese familybusiness. So only if reflection and search the revolutions can help it developsconstantly.This paper analyzes the characteristics and the problems of the Chinese familybusiness from the perspective of Confucian culture in governance mode、mechanism、financing mode respectively, finally puts forward some advices for perfecting ourfamily business governance.
