The theories of corporate social responsibility are very ripe in some of thedeveloped countries. It was comparatively late when the concept of CSR wasintroduced into China. With the constantly development of our economy, the problemsof corporate social responsibility are more and more extensive attention by society,while the companies are focusing on the effect of corporate social responsibility on thecompany’s performance. The theories of corporate social responsibility have beenincreasingly developing. Also, it is inevitable of the companies to bear the socialliability. But our companies still have some insufficient in fulfilling the corporatesocial responsibility especially the things such as Sanlu milk powder incident.Research on the theories of the effect of corporate social responsibility on thecompany’s’ performance has practical significance and that can give useful guidance topractice.At the theoretical part, this article has first carried on the development and theconcept of corporate social responsibility. Besides, this article introduces theevaluation method of corporate social responsibility and the basic theories of thereasons that companies have to fulfill the corporate social responsibility. This partintroduces the kind of social responsibilities that the companies should take. Then, weintroduce the theories of the effect of corporate social responsibility on the company’sperformance on a solid theoretical foundation. In the empirical part, this article choosesthe food service industry’s data for empirical study to research the effect of corporatesocial responsibility on the company’s performance. The study is based on a sample ofcompanies’2007-2011annual reports and we analyze the corporate socialresponsibility. The study deals with the data by Excel and SPSS statistical software.The data are carried on the descriptive statistics analysis and regression analysis,studied the performance of the companies social responsibility how to affect thecorporate performance including the shareholders, creditors, employees, customers andgovernments. At last, the article gives some policies and proposals.The article consists of two main parts, which conclude the theoretical analysis andthe empirical research. While China is building harmonious society, this article tries to give our advice to promote the performance of the listed companies; also, we wish thelisted companies could develop sustainable.
