Spatial correlation of economic development and economic differences as more and more concerns of the community, Whether foreign or domestic research has made significant achievements:Foreign dedicated to the study of the spatial correlation method and domestic commitment to innovation and application of spatial autocorrelation analysis. At home and abroad in the study of spatial correlation in the spatial scales are more concentrated in a single spatial scale analysis, spatial weights matrix multi-choice single entitlements weight matrix, generally adjacent space right weight matrix majority. The central region as the research object, select the prefecture-level cities and county-level dual scale, the adjacency matrix and distance matrix spatial correlation analysis on the economic development of the central region.This paper selected the central region of per capita GDP data in1990-2010double yardstick and double spatial weights matrix global spatial correlation analysis and local spatial correlation analysis. The analysis showed that:Based on adjacency matrix and distance matrix the central region’s economic development presented global positive correlation-a global negative correlation-Global positively correlated,Distance matrix based on the global Moran index change than the adjacency matrix-based global Moran index variation in the prefecture-level cities, County scale economic development based on the adjacency matrix and distance matrix for space-related and county scale economic development based on the distance matrix are highly correlated; From local prefecture-level city scale, based on the adjacency matrix and distance matrix-based local index G hotspot distribution dispersed and less for the county-level scale, whether it is the adjacency matrix or distance matrix, hot concentrated distribution and mainly distributed in around the capital city. Local cold spots distribution based on the distance matrix G index reflects not sensitive to local G index based on adjacency matrix is basically reflects the distribution of the cold spot area, basically distributed in the provinces at the junction of Hunan Province, Jiangxi Province in some areas.
