Research On Development Of Organic Rice Industry In Guangxi Province

Agriculture is the foundation of the national economy. Agriculture Industrialization plays an important role in extension of the agricultural industrial chain, as improving the input-output benefit, increasing farmers’ incomes, boosting economic growth.As one of the most ancient countries which grow rice, China’s total yield of the rice is the first and the rice planting area is the second in the world. However, quantity without quality is the present situation of the rice industry in China. Rice quality in China that lags far behind in Vietnam, the United States, Thailand and other countries could not reach the requirements and expectations of consumers. With the improvement of living conditions and economic conditions, People pay more and more attention to the organic food. Developing organic rice can satisfy people’s demand for high-quality rice products. Organic rice is not polluted by any chemosynthetic materials in the process of production, precession, storage, transportation. Compared with the conventional rice, organic rice is not only natural and unpolluted, but also with high quality. It can satisfy people’s demand for food safety and plays an important role for human health.This paper is written with the background of organic rice industry development in Guangxi. It Analyses the status quo of industrialization of organic rice in Guangxi by using investigation, literature research, expert interviews, SWOT analysis and other methods. Agriculture, regional economics, marketing, Industrial agriculture and other theories are used in this paper. In the end, we put forward Strategies to the development of organic rice industry in Guangxi.(1) Company—farmer is the most potential mode of those organic rice organization models, is the best one to suit China’s current economic policy and the status quo of the land transfer.(2) Production technology, industrialization of agriculture the status quo, people’s sense of consumption, regional condition are the major factors of the development of organic rice.(3) Using SWOT analysis to analyze the development of organic rice industrialization in Guangxi and pointing out the strengths and shortages of organic rice keeping growing. There are six major strengths—resources, foundation, technology, climate, region, brand, and several shortages such as the short Industrial Chain, less competitive, productive brand with little influence, inadequate investment in developing organic rice industry. But we still have a chance to make good in marketing, creating new mode, technology supporting, social services, advertising promotion. However, organic rice industry is also faced the threats of high competitive in the market, more and more strict of the production stander and management.
