An Empirical Study Of The Automobile Industry Cluster In Wuhan City

With the accelerating process of global economic integration, the marketcompetition is becoming more and more intense, which accelerates the process ofglobalization of the world automobile industry. The history of the development of theworld automobile industry cluster is the inevitable result of the development ofautomobile industry.The international automotive industry develops through thedevelopment of industrial clusters. Due to a long industrial chain and a highcorrelation of automobile industry,it has always been a pillar industry in China.Theindustry cluster will be an effective strategy to foster competitiveness of China’sautomobile industry.The implementation of the cluster strategy of automobile industrywill vigorously promote the development of automobile industry. In the day of fiercemarket competition and rapid development of automobile industry clusters at homeand abroad,it has an important meaning for researching the present situation andproblems to enhance the competence of Wuhan autobile industry existing in thedeveloping of Wuhan automobile industry.This paper does the empirical study on the formation,development existed inWuhan automobile industry clusters using the theory of industrial clusters, locationcoefficient method and industrial concentration. The introduction part describes thebackground of the problem, domestic and international automotive industry clusterliterature review, research methods and the technology roadmap.Chapter II does asummary of the development process and the advantage of mature foreign automobileindustry cluster.Wuhan automobile industry cluster can learn from the experience oftheir development process. Chapter III does the sort of the domestic and internationalenvironment facing the development of automobile industry in Wuhan City, and thenanalysises the automobile industry cluster status quo of Wuhan from the five aspectsof production and operation, types of automotive products, technological innovationstatus, the size of the industrial park, as well as education R&D institutions. Nextusing the location coefficient method and degree of industrial concentration method toindentify Wuhan degree of development of the automobile industry clusterQuantitatively. Chapter IV analysises the automobile industry cluster of Wuhan from four perspectives using SWOT method.
