An Empirical Study On Development Of Guangzhou Automobile Industrial Cluster

At present, the industrial cluster as one kind of economic phenomena has widely existed during the economic life. Looks over the international automobile industry, the majority of countries develop automobile industry through the industrial clusters, the industrial interrelatedness of automobile industry is extremely high, the industrial chain is very long and the economical drawing affects is high and so on, the implementation of industrial cluster strategy can effectively promote the fast and stable development of automobile industry.The thesis does the empirical study on the formation, development and problems existed of the Guangzhou automobile industrial cluster using the industrial cluster theory and the method of Location Quotient. According to the industrial cluster theory, the thesis puts forward corresponding countermeasures on the problems of the Guangzhou automobile industrial cluster. This thesis is divided into six parts. Introduction describes the background and significance of studying Guangzhou automobile industrial cluster, the overview of industrial cluster theory, present study of foreign and domestic automobile industrial cluster, the content of study, the methods of research and the innovation of the dissertation. Then the thesis briefly analyzes the inevitability and superiority of formation of the automobile industrial cluster, and describes a profile of renowned automobile industrial clusters. Next, the thesis identifies quantitatively the Guangzhou automobile industrial cluster using the method of Location Quotient, analyzes the motive of the formation and development of Guangzhou automobile industrial cluster. At the same time, the thesis also analyzes systematically the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the development of automobile industrial cluster in Guangzhou using SWOT method, and proposes the related countermeasures and suggestions against the problems. The conclusion part summarizes the work undertaken and the conclusions derived, points out the shortcomings of the thesis and brings up the next step of study.
