The characteristics of real estate industry are periodicity, relevance, territorialityand sensibility to related policy. It is a tough problem to reach the expectant operationalobjective of a real estate company in the market circumstances with severe change andintense competitive. Performance assessment based on Management by Objectives is aneffect approach to achieve the expectant operational objective, and can arouseemployee’s enthusiasm and creativeness. The performance assessment can build overallopinion and cooperation consciousness among different departments, improve sense ofresponsibility and service quality of employee. It can used to strength vitality of thecompany by a highly running system with all departments. In practice, the effect ofperformance assessment is influenced by different problems which caused fromconflicted implement ideas and methods of performance assessment.The author analyzed the state-of-art of the theory of performance assessment andresearch of performance assessment system, and concluded some shortcomings aboutperformance assessment of the real estate company. Take XX Real Estate Group forexample, explicit yearly operational target, department responsibility and division ofauthority were represented. New organizational structure and salary system wereproposed to improve the existing performance assessment system of XX Real EstateGroup. An objective set consisting of targets at different level such as company level,department level and employee level was build according to the overall operationaltarget of XX Real Estate Group. Targets at each level will be achieved after regulationof implementation procedure and track management of each process. The overalloperational target of XX Real Estate Group can be realized easily when performance of each position is reached. The result of designing the MBO-oriented performanceassessment system for XX Real Estate Group can be used for references to performanceassessment of other real estate companies.
