The Comparative Study Of Sino-Japanese IC Industry Competitiveness

The IC industry is an important manifestation of the latest achievements anddevelopment direction of modern science and technology. Its competitiveness situation hasbecome an important symbol to measure a country’s level of productivity and socialdevelopment. Recent years, with the rapid development of China’s IC industry, the scaleof the industry expands gradually and the industrial structure is becoming more rational,as well as the international competitiveness of IC industry is rising. However, comparedwith the America and Japan, there is still a wide gap. Therefore, we not only have to makegreat effort in development of our country’s integrated circuit industry, but also have toenhance the international competitiveness of China’s IC industry from a strategic height ofensuring the future of our country. Research on the international competitiveness ofChina’s IC industry, analysis of industry development status and excavation of thebottleneck will help us to identify the existing problems in the development of thedomestic IC industry, and take effective measures to accelerate the pace of internationaldevelopment of China’s IC industry so as to enhance its core competitiveness.Presently, domestic and foreign scholars mainly do researches on the internationalcompetitiveness of industries at the national macro level, and study in the corecompetitiveness of enterprises from the angle of enterprise. However, this article analyzesthe international competitiveness of industries at a Meso level, which is different to theothers. Firstly, the article has a brief summary of the development status of IC industry inChina and Japan, and then has a comparative analysis in the international competitivenessof IC industry between China and Japan, from the aspect of the production and marketingcompetitiveness of integrated circuit products, the trade competitiveness of integratedcircuit products and the input of R&D talent of integrated circuit industry, so as to find thegap in IC industry between China and Japan. After qualitative and comparative study, thispaper also built an industry international competitiveness evaluation index system,combined with data of China’s IC industry, using this model to make a quantitativeassessment and analysis of IC industry’s competitiveness status and its influencing factors,which aims to dig out the main reason for restricting the level of competitiveness ofChina’s IC industry. Finally, this paper put forwards targeted recommendations to improvethe competitiveness of China’s IC industry combined with the results of empirical analysis.I hope the research of this article will be a reference for the improvement of thecompetitiveness of domestic IC industry.
