Urbanization is the only way which a country’s economic development must bepassed. China is the most populous country in the world, its urbanization developmentwill have a significant impact on the world. As the Nobel laureate Joseph Stiglitz saidChina’s urbanization and the United States high-tech are two events to affect humanprocesses in the21st century. Therefore, this paper selected panel data China31provincial-level administrative region urbanization rate and per capita GDP2000-2011years, from the spatial econometric perspective, research on spatial effectin our city level on economic growth. This paper firstly introduces the background and significance of the research. Combs and reviews the relevant literatures at home and abroad, and proposes theresearch mentality and the method. Most of previous researches about theurbanization and economic growth to the neglect of the spatial correlation between theprovincial spatial difference, but China province inter domain is very obvious, analysis by the national macro time series data, tends to mask the prominent spatialheterogeneity, which can lead to a variety of research results and inferences about thelack of explanation. Therefore, this is the geographical spatial factors into theanalysis framework, using spatial econometric model, effect of urbanization spaceadjacent to the economic growth. The second part is the theoretical hypothesis of growth effects of theestablishment of urbanization space adjacent to the. The development process ofChinese urbanization based as well as the economic growth situation of thedescription, in view of the present research is not enough, the theory of economicgrowth and urbanization theory, spatial variables into the urbanization, theurbanization space effect to promote economic growth. The third part is the set of spatial statistical analysis and econometric model. Mainly includes the exploratory spatial data analysis (local space and global spatialcorrelation), test and select the selection, establishment and spatial econometric model of spatial econometrics model of spatial weights. The fourth part is the parameter estimation of statistical analysis and econometricmodel space. The first is through the Moran plot and LISA cluster graph to havespatial correlation analysis of provincial economic growth China and urbanizationlevel. The results show, the per capita GDP in eastern coastal area, urbanization levelis high, and the per capita GDP in Midwest urbanization level low, low. Further theestablishment of a common OLS model and spatial Durbin model and spatial errormodel, find the urbanization level can promote economic growth, but the ordinaryOLS model overestimates the urbanization on the role of economic growth, which isnot considered urbanization spatial proximity effect has a promoting effect oneconomic growth, which proves the theoretical hypothesis. The last part is a conclusion, which mainly includes the summary and policyrecommendations. On the western countries should give serious brain drain in theregion of preferential policies, by increasing the area of wages, so that they can stay inthe west, promote regional economic development, to achieve a balanceddevelopment of all the provinces and cities; Should also strengthen the regionalcooperation, promote common development of the region.
