In this dissertation, the theoretical framework of the economic growth effects of regional economic integration is established based on new classical economics. Meanwhile, it is described from a new perspective of regional economic growth and regional economic integration in the Yangtze River Delta region. Furthermore, the Space measurement methods are innovatived applied in the empirical study of economic effect of regional integration.Using the data of different regions from 2000 to 2012 in Yangtze River Delta, the paper explains this problem by the time series analysis and spatial analysis, by using the traditional econometrics models and spatial econometric model. Then, a traditional econometric analysis model is firstly constructed to analysis the panal datas of 16 cities of Yangtze Delta. Finally, the space economic models, including Spatial Lag Model, Spatial Eerror Model, Spatial Durbin model and Geographical weighted regression model, are established to analysis the economic effect of regional economic integration in the Yangtze Delta.Combined with qualitative and quantitative analysis, it was explained the role of regional economic integration to the economic growth in the Yangtze Delta region, and it was showed the space relevancy, space differences and space evolution in the Yangtze Delta region’s long-term equilibrium development. The main conclusion is that:(1) The regional economic integration levels of various regions of the Yangtze Delta have degrees of increase from 2000 to 2012.Composite scores for the regional economic integration have an overall upward trend though have local fluctuation. The differences exists in the levels, the change trend and the change range of economic integration among different regions;(2) The space-time evolution of regional economic integration has a clear feature in the Yangtze Delta region. First, the regional economic integrationlevel deviation tends to get larger. Second, the spatial distribution of regional economic integration levels of various regions of the Yangtze Delta displays spatial gradient feature. Next, To Shanghai as the center, the level of regional economic integration has shown the axis of east-west, and the level drop gradually from east to west, from the axis of east-west to the both sides of south and north;(3) The paper finds that the effect of regional integration to economic growth has a significant influnce on the statistics;(4) The estimation effect of spatial econometric models significantly higher than other traditional econometric model. Minewhile, the regression determination coefficient(R2) of SDM reach the highest level(0.8711);(5) The effect of regional integration to economic growth has special significant heterogeneity character. From the geographical distribution of parameters and variables estimate values of regional integration, the region of the high level in the economy development is better than the the region of the low level in the economy development. The paper is organized as follows:Chapter 1 and 2 indicate the theory and domestic and foreign research literature summary. Based on standardized research, this paper first gives definitions of the region, integration, economic integration, spillover effect, externality and other concepts. Then from the correlation theories of regional integration, regional economic growth and sustainable development, the paper clears up and summarizes the correlation theories of the effect of regional integration to economic growth, and lays a foundation for later work.Chapter 3 and 4 introduce the recognition method of the effect of regional integration to economic growth. From the Spatial Integration, industrial integration, market integration, transportation integration, information integration, institution system integration and eco-environment integration, the paper constitutes evaluation index system on the regional economic integration, and then introduces the mechanism of the regional integration affecting economy grows, bulid the models to analysis the effect of regional integration to economic growth and the analytical framework. At last, this chapter particularizes spatial econometrics and spatial regression models.Chapter 5 conducts a basic estimating and empirical study on the effect of regional integration to economic growth. First, this chapter reviews the history and status of the regional integration in the Yangtze Delta region. From the perspective of the division and agglomeration of manufacturing, the paper judgesthe integration process in the Yangtze Delta region. And then, give an comprehensive evaluation to the level of regional integration in the Yangtze Delta region. At last, the chapter conducts the traditional quantitative analysis.Chapter 6 conducts an empirical analysis of spatial econometric model. With the help of Arc Gis, Geoda, Matlab and other software, this part bases on the relevant data and conducts the empirical research approach to discuss the the effect of regional integration to economic growth. From the practice aspect, the paper provide the empirical data support for promoting the economic prospertity of the Yangtze Delta region.Chapter 6 and 7 first anlysises the characteristics and existing problems in the process of the regional economic integration, and then indicates the policies of the effect of regional integration to economic growth.
