From the industry restructuring in2008to the issuance of3G licenses in2009,the three operators of China’s telecommunications industry have the ability tosimultaneously all business operations in the same time,so far,China’s telecommunications industry have come into a new era of full-service operation. Eliminate barriers,fair competition on the same starting line, made the competition market even more brutal and intense.These are both challenges and opportunities to threeoperators,while the requirements of the operator’s strategic plan and marketing capabilities are much higher.In the context of the entire business operations,regardless of telecommunications,China Mobile or China Unicom,are fully aware of rethinking and analyzing the competitive situation which from the serious competition of product homogeneity. It is also a significant topic for the three operators to face the challenges.Firstly,this paper made a brief summary which base on the strategic management theory,strategic decision-making theory,industrial economics theory and analysis methods,and these theories provide a theoretical basis to appropriate formulation and strategic choice of China Telecom’s strategy.Secondly,using analysis tools such as PEST,SWOT,Porter’s five force model to analyze Telecom internal and external environment of china,through detailed data to analysis the advantages and disadvantages of China Telecom’s internal and external opportunities and threats,as well as its external macro environment facing.Thirdly,through the study of core resources and capabilities,resolved the presence of the core competitiveness of China Telecom in the competition,while also providing a basis for writing the following core capabilities.By studying the relevant theoretical basis,the competitive environment,as well as core competencies,draw the conclusions about direction for the future development of China Telecom and how to compete. Differentiation strategy as one of the three major business competition strategy,how to conduct business integration and innovation in customer demand,the formation of competitive differentiation through the integration of the way the product is the most important competition in the market.Finally,the above strategy,competitive strategy to provide effective strategic support system,including the corporate structure and organizational structure,business process reengineering,functional strategies and proposals to enhance the core competence.In this paper,the source of all the dates are real and effective,which are mainly come from the carrier’s official website,the relevant data the media reported and the electronic version of the China Statistical published by the National Bure au of Statistics,the comparative analysis of objective data laid a consolidating and favorable research foundation for the writing of this article.
