The Study On Transformation And Upgrading Of Guangdong Processing Trade

With the continuous deepening development of reforming and opening up policyin China，Guangdong makes full use of the geographical advantage of adjacent toHong Kong and Macao and“special policy and flexible measures”，and activelyundertake the transformation of the international capital and industry so thatprocessing trade has been developing quickly and have become a main foreign trademodel of Guangdong. Processing trade has driven the development of import andexport trade， promoted economic growth， improved employment， promotedtechnological progress and the upgrading of the industrial structure，which plays animportant role on the development of Guangdong economic.However， processing trade in Guangdong faces many problems while itcontributes to the economic development，such as poor industrial correlation，unevenregional distribution，seriously depending on foreign capital，the pressure of RMBappreciation，the rising of labor cost，serious smuggling and so on. Moreover，theglobal financial crisis in2008caused serious impact on Guangdong economicdevelopment，which led to the weakness of import and export，aggravated tradefriction and made many processing trade enterprises shutting down and relocating.Therefore，it is necessary to promote the transformation and upgrading of processingtrade.At first，this paper gives a general analysis of the Guangdong processing trade，arguing about the misunderstanding and contribution. Then，it analyses the problemsthat the processing trade faces and influence factors，introducing the“demographicdividend”to explain the rising of labor cost and focusing on the impact of financialcrisis and the problems that industrial park promotes the transformation andupgrading of processing trade.
