With the development of e-commerce in recent years, the requirements of storagespace is growing. The most important problem of warehouse management is to increasethe utilization of storage space and throughput which has been the focus of majorcompanies and researchers. Deep-lane rack, with high density due to the decrease of thenumber of tunnel, has an effective improvement in the utilization of storage space, but theaccessibility of pallets declines. By improving the accessibility of deep-lane rack can leadto a popular usage of it. Therefore, the study of the travel time model of deep-lane rack ismeaningful.Firstly, this thesis established a travel time model of double-deep-lane rack based onrandom storage assignment according to the way of the stacker. Then divided the productsinto two classes according to the turnover of each type of item, this thesis establishedrespectively the travel time model based on the class-based storage assignment of thepicking face and the deep-lane direction. And then this thesis extended it to the deep-lanerack with a certain volume and established three travel time model based on randomstorage assignment, class-based storage assignment of the picking face and the class-basedstorage assignment of deep-lane direction, and then compared the three kinds of traveltime. Finally, the analysis of the percent of A-class, the parameter of demand function, thedepth of the rack and the depth of each zone is made. Finally, it concluded that the optimaldepth of the rack and the optimal depth of the zone are existed. Compared with randomstorage assignment, it has a significant improvement in class-based storage assignment.
