After more than ten years of development, Chinese third-party payment market hasgradually developed into a mature, compliance, familiar industry from an emerging industry.The third-party payment has become an integral member of the Chinese financial paymentsystem, and on behalf of these enterprises are Alipay, Tenpay, Chinapnr,99bill, etc. As thethird-party payment constantly expands the depth and breadth of its business, it has started toerode the bank’s share and its staggering growth rate puts pressure on Banks. As the dominantforce in the financial system in China, commercial banks’ development directly affects thequality of economic running. In the face of emerging Internet financial form, how to developand improve Chinese commercial banks’ traditional business and intermediary business toimprove their competitiveness, has a certain practical significance in promoting Chinesecommercial banks to develop continually, steadily and healthily and promoting the economyto operate well.The article starting from the development situation and characteristic of our country’sthird party payment, we put Alipay as an example of the third party payment enterprises andanalyze third-party payment related business and advantages. Then respectively from thecommercial banks’ intermediary business and traditional business two angles,we analyzethird-party payment’s challenges for payment and settlement, agent business, fundconsignment, loans and deposits business of our country commercial banks. Finally wepropose the commercial banks should establish a market-oriented and customer-focusedbusiness philosophy, develop some intermediary business with high technical content andadded value such as the personal financial management, financial derivatives and electronicbank,continuously reform and innovate traditional business and strengthen the cooperationwith third-party payment as some suggestions to enhance the competitiveness of commercialbanks in China.
