Since twenty-first Century, the global culture industry has been growing rapidly, as a new and important economic growth point in many countries. Among them, many developed countries even begin to take it as their pillar industry, aware that culture commodities are of high added values and have great contribution to their economies and even the world economy. Therefore, it is very meaningful to study the situation and impact factors of core cultural commodities trade. This paper, after studying the status quo of China’s core culture commodities trade, comes up with its findings as follows:Firstly, the core culture commodities trade flows shows a growing trend, peaked in2008, then, it gradually fall back to the before year’s level in2009, but it begin to grow in2010. Secondly, the import and export structure and geographical distribution of the core cultural commodities is not even, and with some changes of the export structure, visual art products are no longer the only main part, and the audio-visual media products follow up in the development. However, the import structure still features the fact that the music and the performing arts take a large part of the share. What is more, in terms of culture products trade, the developed countries still remain to be China’s largest import and export partners. Thirdly, the obvious surplus trend of our core cultural commodities conflicts with some domestic scholars’judgment but validates the conclusion of the UNESCO.Then, This paper selects the first twenty countries on the base of Chinese core commodities importation and exportation respectively.and this paper makes the empirical analysis on the influence of overall cultural distance and dimensions of cultural distance on importation and exportation of the overall and classification of Chinese core cultural commodities, using the monopolistic competition model and multiple regression method. This model uses panel data of Chinese core cultural commodities importation and exportation of the first20countries or regions from2000to2010.The results show:Firstly, the overall cultural distance produces negative impact on Chinese exportation, but it is not impaction on the importation. Secondly, It produces the difference effect that the difference dimension of cultural distance on the importation and exportation of our core cultural commodities. Specifically speaking, According to the influence level on exportation of China’s cultural commodities, these cultural dimensions can be ordered as male and female, Individualism and collectivism, long and short term tendency, power distance, indulgence and constraint. The male and female, indulgence and constraint dimension promote the overall exportation of core cultural commodities, power distance, long and short term tendency, uncertainty avoidance dimension inhibit the overall exportation of core cultural commodities, uncertainty avoidance don’t affect China’s overall exportation of core cultural commodities. According to the influence level on importation of China’s cultural commodities, these cultural dimensions can be ordered as power distance, long and short term tendency, Individualism and collectivism, indulgence and constraint, uncertainty avoidance dimensions, the uncertainty avoidance, Individualism and collectivism Jong and short term tendency dimensions has has positive impact on the importation of our core cultural commodities, power distance, indulgence and constraint dimension are opposite. Thirdly, The overall cultural distance on the impaction of the classification of core cultural goods are also differences. In addition to the exportation of the audio-visual media, The overall cultural distance inhibit the exportation of other categories commodities. The overall cultural distance don’t affect the importation of Music and performing arts and the visual arts, but it inhibit the importation of other commodities. At last, Based on the above research, the paper concludes with some suggestions about improving the development of our core culture commodities.
