Compared with the common steel industry, special steel industryis a high threshold industry. These following characteristic of special steel, such as highconcentration, long service life of special steel material, energy-saving andenvironmental protection, make it more comply with the prospects of steel industry. But,Many common steel enterprise is being changed to special steel enterprise foraccelerating the pace of merger and reorganization of steel enterprises in our country,which leads to surplus production and fierce competition. To remain invincible incompetitions, enterprise must start with low cost, product differentiation and highadditional value products to achieve strategic goals through improving externalconditions and tapping their own potentials.Jiangyou Changcheng Special Steel Co., Ltd., Pangang Group that produce specialsteels is smaller among this field and have a heavy historical burden. Now thecompany’s business is not good. Faced with the fierce competition, it is importantthat our company bases on the own staffs, technical advantage and follow the way oflow cost and product differentiation. Based on the current development of steelindustry at home and abroad, this article studied the internal and external conditions ofthe enterprise with the SWOT Matrix. then analyzed the difference between special steelenterprises and common steel ones and compared the company business state among thesame field. Finally gave some concrete suggestions to the competition strategy of ourcompany. The author hope this study have some guiding significance for the othersteel enterprise.
