Model Optimization Based On Preventive Maintenance Warranty Costs

In today’s competition, the product warranty plays an important role in product sales, which is similar to the product price, functionality, brand, and is also an important factor to customers when they consider to purchase products. Thus, the product warranty is increasingly becoming a powerful tool for enterprises to improve competitiveness and to develop new markets. Generally speaking, if the equipment fail in the warranty period, the companies must pay maintenance responsibility.So if the company take appropriate preventive maintenance of equipment during the warranty period,it will be effective in reducing the number of failures of the equipment, thereby reducing the warranty costs.Therefore, how to combine the product warranty and appropriate preventive maintenance strategy to reduce the warranty cost, has become an important research topic.And for the current objective phenomenon:product warranty management confusion, high warranty cost,make this research have a strong practical significance.Based on the company’s perspective,this paper researches the warranty cost optimization model based on preventive maintenance. Firstly, this paper describes the research background and significance, summarizely analyzes the research status of product warranty and equipment maintenance.Secondly,describes the basic theory of the warranty cost and equipment maintenance.On this basis, builds the warranty cost optimization model based on the preventive maintenance.Finally, applicates this model to a specific example, through calculating the optimal preventive maintenance time, maintenance number of times, preventive maintenance degree in warranty period, thereby makes the product warranty cost minimization.And makes sensitivity analysis to the model parameter.
