At present our country has more than five hundred small and medium-sized Banks, accounted for more than96%of the total number of Banks, the total asset size has more than73trillion yuan, the proportion of total assets in the banking industry for more than50%.Small and medium Banks has become the main force of the small and medium-sized enterprise financial services, but compared to the large state-owned Banks has a striking lack of competitiveness, so it is necessary to analysis of small and medium-sized Banks competitiveness.At first, this paper will be small and medium-sized bank competitiveness index system is divided into four kinds, safety, liquidity, profitability, innovation ability. The next step is to analysis the small and medium-sized Banks can be divided into three categories, each category to choose four Banks,so I chose a total of12representative of small and medium-sized Banks.They respectively are:Shanghai pudong development bank,China merchants bank,Minsheng bank,Huaxia bank,Bank of Beijing,Bank of tianjin,Bank of ningbo,Harbin bank, Beijing rural commercial bank,Shanghai rural commercial bank,Tianjin rural commercial bank,Chongqing rural commercial bank. According to the small and medium-sized Banks in the first half of2012annual report data, using the analytic hierarchy process (ahp) to analyze all kinds of small and medium-sized Banks competitiveness, evaluate the competitiveness level of the12representative of small and medium-sized Banks, competitiveness rankings is obtained.With the work of evaluation of the competitiveness level of the12representative of small and medium-sized Banks to be done,I will find the cause of all kinds of small and medium-sized banks lack of competitiveness.The most distinct reasons of the lack of competitiveness of joint-stock bank are Lack of market share and lag of management level.The main reason for the lack of city commercial Banks competitiveness are city commercial bank’s risk management backward technology, imperfect corporate governance structure, narrow financing channel and fuzzy positioning themselves.Rural commercial Banks, by contrast, the main reasons of the lack of competitiveness come from rural commercial Banks’ operating risk concentration, difficult to meet the personalized needs of customers and products and low levels of innovative technology products and services.Then according to the actual situation,I put forward countermeasures for all kinds of small and medium-sized Banks.Joint-stock Banks can increasing market share, improve the management ability to improve competitiveness; City commercial bank can through the establishment of the comprehensive risk management system, promoting good internal evaluation system, and perfecting the capital supply channels and market segments, to build core competence to enhance competitiveness; Rural commercial bank can reduce the non-performing loan ratio, providing for the customer characteristic, personalized, humanized service, speeding up the speed up the pace of financial innovation to improve the competitiveness.
