Research On Correlation Between Rural Highway Construction And Rural Economic Development Of Sichuan Province

In recent years, the economic development of Sichuan province has made great progress, the entire GDP once leaps to front row, the people’s living standards improved significantly, industrial,construction and transportation industry develop rapidly.urbanization process accelerated. Accompanying with which is the traditional agricultural economy as the first industry develops serious lag, added with the weak rural transport infrastructure,which limits the development of rural economy.Under the background, the paper made a preliminary study and discussion on the relationship between the rural highway construction and the rural economy development in Sichuan province.On the basis of a large number of relevant literatures, this paper summarized the related research situation and achievements at home and abroad, in order to do a little foreshadowing and reference for my research.Sale and level of density, structure,quality and distribution characteristics of sichuan rural highway network are analyzed in the paper, and also did the rural highway network of the typical cities and counties contain preponderant area, general area, poor areas in rural economic which was selected. Analysised the rural economic development level of various cities and counties in sichuan province from1990to2010, combined with the research on the space-time changes in five different stages of rural economic development, parsed the status characteristics in different stages in various cities and counties of rural economic development. Then made a regression model, did a correlation analysis between density of rural highways and rural economic development to reveal the correlation between them two.When analysised and compared with different regions we found that regional urbanization level and rural highway density were almost positively correlated, and also positively correlated with agricultural output value, industrial output in moderate economic level areas,and negatively correlated with regional agricultural structure.Especially in the low level of economic regions, rural roads impacts much bigger than which in high levels of economic regions.There is no denying the fact that rural highway construction has certain positive significance to rural economic development, but as for the efficacy of the rural highway construction to rural economic development, the overall contribution rate is not quite high. Similarly, the reaction of the improvement on rural economy to rural highway construction investment is not obvious as well. In this article, research result through horizontal and vertical analysis shows that rural highway construction and the rural economy development in sichuan province, overall were positively correlated but there is no strong correlation between them.Moreover, this papar illustrated and discussed the problems and defects existing in the research and also prospects the further research,in order to further reveal the relationship between them.
