Agriculture plays vital role in our country which isbasic industries, once it arises mishap, the entire Socio-economic development will bedestroyed seriously. In addition to this, it also makes eecological environment be destroyedseriously, the environmental pollution becomes more and more protrusion, residents livingenvironment turn to bad day and day, and happiness index goes down. If this situationsurvives for long, it must affect harmony social construction and implementation of thestrategy for sustainable development. Urban Agriculture come into being in thisenvironment, which combines urban development with rural development, combineseconomic with eco-efficiency, combines agricultural Production with industry and business.It has producing living and ecology comprehensive benefits, and it can solve difficultproblems which be bringing about advancing urbanization.With the development plan of Central China, Zhengzhou seizes the opportunity, theoverall level of social economy get an unprecedented development. The city’s GDP overfulfils5000hundred million in2012year, has Qualified the material base and the needs todevelop Urban Agriculture, So it is necessary to make analysis and Research on thedevelopment of urban agriculture in Zhengzhou. In view of this, the article makes overallresearch on the developing of Urban Agriculture in Zhengzhou, which bases on heavilyliterature reading, learns related research conclusion at home and abroad, and combineswith development status of Urban Agriculture in Zhengzhou city. Firstly, this paper getsthe definition and connotation of urban agriculture through a number of research papers,which lay the theoretical foundation for the paper. Then through the SWOT analysis andthe comparative analysis, this paper find the existing problem in the development processof urban agriculture, and development mode which should be selected in Zhengzhou.Finally, through the analytic hierarchy process and data envelopment analysis, this paperevaluates the development’s whole level and efficiency in Zhengzhou. Through research we can get the conclusion that it must choose the development modelwhich include economic, social and ecological, and must adopt the strategic response thathas Hierarchical，multi-faceted，multifunction. By the research on the overall level of urbanagriculture in Zhengzhou, we can know that it is still be in the initial development stages,the level is low, however the pace of development is fast. Among the Level of economicdevelopment is highest, the pace of development is also fastest. In2011, Zhengzhou urbanagriculture has achieved development needs on economic level. However, Eco-friendlylevel is lower, and the pace of development is slower, even it had gone backwards between2002and2011.Finally, we can get the conclusion that social development level ofZhengzhou urban agriculture is lowest, which has restricted the development of Zhengzhouurban agriculture. So we can conclude that the urban agriculture’ development inZhengzhou should further strengthen ecological environmental construction and theintegration of urban and rural areas construction in the future, give full play to the uniquefunction of urban agriculture, realize the social harmonious development with production,life and ecological. Through the efficiency Evaluation, we can know the urban agricultureeconomic development and social development have more higher level in2002and2011years, however ecological subsystem is relatively lower, which have been an descend trend,also they are both decreasing in scale efficiency. Therefore we can get the conclusion thatit is not enough that depends on material input only, the more important is that we shouldfind an way to change the way of economic growth, adjustment economic structure andbuild capacity of Innovation and technology-driven.
