The Current Status And Developmental Countermeasures Of Fuding City Leisure Fishery

With the development of economic and the improvement of the people’s living standard，there is an urgent increase in urban citizens’ consumer demand for returning and getting closeto nature. Under this circumstance，leisure fishery comes into being. The concept，based on thetheme of fishery culture and the idea of leisure，is an integration of fishery resources and tourismresources. This new industry not only provides plenty of job vacancies，but also helps to achievethe sustainability of fishery. Moreover，People warmly welcome the leisure fishery for meetingman’s demand for leisure and entertainment. As one of the top10fishery counties and cities ofFujian province，Fuding takes pride in its abundant marine resources, strong production，longfishery history，profound fishery culture and unique domestic tourism resources. In recent years，the local government has taken some effective measures to strengthen fishery and has madegradual progress， but it is not yet satisfactory. As far as the plan， the content and form areconcerned，there is no yet innovative breakthrough in these aspects. This，of course，makes itdifficult for further development. Besides，its’ optimal scale remains to be discussed.This essay analyses the leisure fishery current status abroad and domestically, on the basisof complete investigation into the current status of Fuding’s fishery industry，tends to find out theexisting problem. It elaborates on the benefits of fishery，also，it lays great emphasis on itsinfluence to the environment and proposes some effective strategies for its development. Basedon the results of SWTO analysis for Fuding city leisure fishery and learning lessons andexperiences from the foreign and domestic leisure fishery, the developmental countermeasures ofFuding City leisure fishery are put forward. Leisure fishery should be developed according to thelocal conditions by taking advantage of “Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the TaiwanStraits” to make the most of “the early and pilot implementation” policy，speed up the optimalintegration of fishery， environment，tourism，and culture so as to make it a new industry witha perfect combination of manufacture，tourism，leisure，culture and entertainment， as well asan ideal way for fishermen to switch their roles. No efforts should be spared to actively cultivateleisure fishery into a new point of economic growth which provides more job opportunities tofishermen. Meanwhile，Development of leisure fishery is also helpful to protect marine resourcesand benefit for the sustainable development of Fuding city fishery industry.
