As we all know that it’s very expensive for the strategic capital equipment andcorresponding TIU of semi-conductor assembling and testing (ATM) industry. On top ofthat, with the increasingly generation change of semi-conductor products, the change ofcorresponding TIU is very fast as well due to the market requirement. So how toimprove the efficiency and capacity of ATM equipment is becoming one of the mostimportant research areas. Back to the Company A where the author works, there is hugegap existing between the effective capacity and forecast capacity, which may lead todelivery push out or even the risk of contract breaking. So How to effectively measure, control and improve the capacity of equipment isone of the focus areas for all the semi-conductor manufactures. In order to measure, control and measure the Semi-conductor company equipment efficiency, SEMI(Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) establishes one specification, which is SEMI E79. In this Spec, the OEE (Overall Equipment Efficiency) has beenintroduced to measure the equipment efficiency, which is able to be accommodated tocurrently semi-conductor industry requirement and make up the of the shortage oftraditional measurement methodology, that’s why this Spec is able to become verypopulate in semi-conductor industry. The study objective of this thesis is the capacityconstraint issue which is the real case occur Company A Burn-In module during the newproduct introduction for Product CW. Through a mass of data and the application of lotof mamangment tools ((FEMA, PDCA, SPC, SWI, SOP, JIBS, Statistics)and set up theeffective employee training model and close-loop performance management, the taskforuce succesffuly figure out the solution to imrove the capacity from burn-in module.
