Modern manufacturing enterprises faced with so much competition such asshorter delivery time, better product quality, cost saving, better services etc. Forenterprises, modern logistics is an effective way to win in fierce competition. Modernefficient logistics system can not only shorten delivery time and reduce costs, but alsoto improve product quality and improve customer service.The research subject of this paper is a large equipment manufacturer (powergeneration equipment manufacturer). All products’ production is mostly low-volumesingle-piece production. The research object of this paper is the enterprise storagesystem, the research objectives are to analyze and optimize the enterprise storagesystem. The organization of production of power generation equipment manufactureris typical low-volume single-piece production. The characteristic of this productionincluding long product period, many parts, complex technique, many product cells etc.So the enterprise storage system faced with such problems as big volume of storage,long turnover period and complex logistics and so on.Firstly, this paper focuses on logistics within the power generation equipmentmanufacturer. Then study on the storage system part of logistics of the manufacturer:find out problem of the current storage system. Then based on the develop stratagemof the manufacturer, give the detailed steps to set up standard storage system and listthe estimate method for storage system to optimize current storage system.For optimizing current storage system. Firstly focus on the organization of thestorage system, translate disperse management mode into central management modeby adjusting the related resource and integrating the workers. Secondly implementbusiness process rearrange. Thirdly focus on the MIS(management informationsystem) of the storage system, implement a MIS dedicated for the storage system toconveniently manage the storage. Finally establish a estimate system for the storagesystem and optimize the distribute and delivery system to improve manufactureefficiency and reduce product cost.
