Despite the growing attention on the internationalization of emerging market firms, the traditional topics remain the main focus of International Business Researchers. Except a few papers on the performance, the study on the outcomes of internationalization is still rare. Based with institutional theory and resource based view, this paper studies the effect of internationalization on corporate social responsibility (CSR), exploring the outcomes of Chinese firms’internationalization. Applying the multi-authorized data, we tested the impact of internationalization and international diversification on CSR and explored the moderate effect of ownership (state owned enterprises vs. private owned enterprises) on the two relationships. Our results shows that:(1)Internationalization and international diversification both have the positive effect on Chinese firms’ CSR;(2)For the relationship between internationalization and CSR, the private firms’is stronger than state owned firms’. At last, this paper discussed the meaning for management and the research limitation.
