| Since reform and opening, marketization is always the major theme of commercial banks in China, the speed and depth of marketization of commercial banks is closely related to their competitiveness. The introduction of strategic investor is one of the obligatory courses of Chinese commercial banks in marketization process, including large state-owned commercial bank and small and medium-sized commercial banks. All Chinese commercial banks except that by introduction of strategic investors, they would enhance their capital strength and management ability, and improve their core competitiveness.In1990’s, Chinese commercial banks start to reform under the guide of property rights theory, the overall ownership reform, being the public company are the mainstream choices. At the beginning of this century, ownership theory have been broken through, the focus transfer to corporate governance, organizational structure etc. And these new theories gradually guide Chinese commercial banks to improve their competitiveness by comprehensive ways. Introduction of strategic investors brings changes on property rights, governance mechanism etc, and Chinese commercial banks begun to introduce strategic investors widely.From the beginning of this century, the climate of introduction of strategic investors appeared. There are3three city commercial banks in S city. A bank is on behalf of stock commercial banks, B bank is on behalf of city commercial bank and C bank is on behalf of rural commercial bank. These three different types of commercial banks have its unique introduction of strategic investors. In this paper, we except to find out the key factors of success of the introduction of strategic investor by analysis of these three banks. |
