Our country has about120resource-based cities, which is about20%of the total number of cities across the country. Resource-based cities are our raw materials, energy bases, which have made a significant contribution to economic development and social progress. However, with the rapid development of the resource-based cities, all kinds of problems and contradictions have become increasingly prominent, mainly reflected in the following aspects:1,The environment suffers huge damage, the quality of the environment becomes bad and bad;2, resources waste seriously, over-exploit, that results a sharp drop in the available resources;3, The gradual decline of the level of sustainable development and the increase of resource-exhausted cities. So, it is really necessary to study the sustainable development of resource-intensive region. So far, researches of resource-intensive region are not uncommon, but more focused on the transformation of resource-exhausted cities, few studied the sustainable development of the emerging resource-intensive region. The coordinated development of resources, environment, economics, and society is one of the hot issues of global concern today. The emerging resource-intensive regions which based on mining resource are important regions to practice sustainable development. How to embark on a new road of coordinated economic and social development, resources and environment virtuous circle, that is a major topic of research to centralize the benefits of resource-based regional economics, society, resources, and environment. The emerging resource-intensive region should pay attention to avoid falling into the resource curse trap. We should focus on sustainable development issues in the early stages of development instead of seek transformation until resources are exhausted. This paper takes one of the emerging resource-intensive region Eerduosi for example to do some research. I hope to provide a reference for the emerging resource-intensive region of research.
