The relationship between land and economy is increasingly close. How to obtainthe biggest economic benefits is one of the problem we need to solve now.We analysis the relationship between land use change and economicdevelopment. Then we analysis the land use data in1998,2004and2012of the cityby using the method of geographic information system technology, and we extract thespatial location and quantity and the type of the city. We also analyze the land usechange in nearly14years. At last we select gross domestic product and agriculturaloutput value and gross value of industrial output as our economic factors. ThroughGIS and SPSS software, combining with the method of qualitative analysis, we studythe relationship between the land use change and economic development and thenestablish the regression equation and get the relationship between the economicdevelopment and land use change.(1)The variability of land use is slow from1998to2012, arable land decreasesand then increases. It is due to the arable land protection policy. Water or unused landreduce year by year. Construction land grows more and the main reason is that part ofthe arable land and forest land and grassland area grow into it.(2)Land use change also has relationship with the economy. Construction landand residential areas has positive correlation with the gross domestic product andconstruction completion area of the building and road freight volume. It promotes thedevelopment of the economy. Cultivated land has positive relationship withagricultural output value and per capita consumption expenditure of life and industrialoutput. It promotes the development of agricultural economy and improves theresident per capita living standards. Forest land has negative correlation with grossvalue of industrial output, a large part of it turns to construction land and residentialareas promoting the industrial production. Unused land has negative relationshipbetween gross domestic product and construction completion area of the building, itpromotes the development of local economy and improves the living standard.(3)The economic development is steady and fast, but it also exists the followingproblems. Firstly, the development of the economy and the protection of theecological environment are in the equally important position. Secondly, a largenumber of arable land and forest land converted into construction land bringingdamage to the surrounding environment. The third is that we should pay attention tothe protection of forestry to avoid deforestation or illegal occupation. The fourth is the new cultivated land or unused land lack the special planning, the unreasonabledevelopment and utilization of unused make a damage to the local ecologicalenvironment and resources.the level of economic development is higher, but the industrial structure needs tobe improved. The city has innate geographical advantage by located in the bay and itshould be more open to the public and attract foreigners then strive for the nationalproject and raise the level of total investment.
