To the modern human resources management, job satisfaction is an important psychological indicator. And employees’ job satisfaction directly affects employees’ behavior, reflects the level of the enterprise management. So there is important practical significance to research the employees in job satisfaction for improving the level and efficiency of enterprise management. At present, China is in particular stage of development in the socio-economic transition, retail enterprises have developed rapidly, but the management level of many enterprises among them is low, human resources management is not flexible, and staff turnover is serious.In this paper, Huludao Department Store’s employees are the research object. In this paper, the Huludao Department Store’s employees’ job satisfaction questionnaire was finished on the basis of study the employee satisfaction theory at home and abroad such as the definition and theory basis of job satisfaction, the major factors influencing employees’ job satisfaction, measurement methods and tools. And test revised the job satisfaction questionnaire. Secondly, using the questionnaires to measure the the Huludao Department Store’s employees in the current job satisfaction, compare differences with different demographic characteristics of employees job satisfaction. Finally, in response to the issues raised above, make the management proposals to improve the Huludao Department Store’s employees’ job satisfaction. In this study, we use the statistical softwares Excel and SPSS17.0for data analysis. We use methods of the descriptive statistical analysis, the reliability and validity analysis, the single-factor analysis of variance.The main conclusions:(1) The overall job satisfaction of Huludao Department Store’s employees is general. The larger impact factors are the working relationship, the job itself and the working environment.(2) Huludao Department Store’s employees that have different demographic variables have significantly different job satisfaction.Through the analysis of job satisfaction of Huludao Department Store’s employees, this study believes that Huludao Department Store should improve job satisfaction at the two levels of corporate and individual. The corporate level:(1) Choosing the right employees, and provide more realistic outlook for future work.(2) Establishment of career development planning.(3) A well-established system of training.(4) A good incentive mechanism.(5) The categorized management of its employees. The individual’level:(1) Improving the personal career planning and career competitiveness;(2) A well dealing with work-life balance.
