Industrial Agglomeration is a core research proposition in New Economic Geography. On the basis of new economic geography approach, we use332administrative districts in China’s four major economic zones as the sample data explaining how the mechanism of industrial agglomeration affects wages and revealing the underlying cause of wage gap in China. We make a detailed introduction and revision of domestic and foreign empirical research, in use of the theory of neoclassical economics, urban economics and New Economic Geography. We try to card the mechanism of industrial agglomeration affects regional wages and the influence factors of wages gap. Then, the main part of the thesis mainly adopts the empirical study, for example, the statistical and analysis method and constructed econometric model respectively used for the wages gap in China and the model of mechanism of industrial agglomeration affects wages. We draw some conclusions as followed:firstly, in recent decades, the regional wage gap in China has been widening. Although it has taken on a decline since2003, the gap is still large. Secondly, we find that wage gap in China is mainly caused by the gap between regions. Among them, the higher wages is east and west in China, central and northeast are low leave of wages, the wages gap is still large. Thirdly, From the view of the spatial pattern of wage gap, it can be concluded that the wages in space are obviously concentrated, and the amount of administrative districts is increasing. We can find out that wage and industrial agglomeration have space relevance. Besides, we use the least square method to analyze and explain it in details. Through the comparison and analysis of the results of the regression, we draw a conclusion that ndustrial agglomeration is more conducive to raise the level of wages, and the impact on the Eastern is significant. Eastern industrial agglomeration to the elastic coefficient of wage is0.1916, the other three regional industrial agglomeration also has significant positive effect on wages. Therefore, balance the level of regional industrial agglomeration is the main way to narrow regional wage gap. And we can combine the characteristic of regions, to establish proper industrial concentration areas. The results provide an empirical evidence for Regional Wage Gap in China, Thus, we can put forward some feasible proposals to reduce regional wage gap.
