Study On The Demand For Science And Technology And Policy System Of Developing Modern Agriculture

Agricultural production plays an important role in the country’s political andeconomic activities and development strategy since China is a large traditional farmingcountry. Moreover, Agricultural production has entered a new modern agriculture stage afterprimitive agriculture and traditional agriculture. Meanwhile, modern agriculture also holds thefuture of agricultural production. Therefore, how to vigorously develop agriculturalproduction and how to comprehensively improve the integrated benefits has become animportant issue confronting to all the countries.China has made strategic plan of developing modern agriculture timely in the light of thenew agricultural features and trend at home and abroad. Promoting the construction ofmodern agriculture has been put forward clearly in “The CPC Central Committee suggestionson formulating the eleventh five-year planning of national economy and socialdevelopment”.Just as was stressed in “No.1Central Document” in2007, developing modernagriculture is primary task in building new social countryside. It is an inevitable request ofguiding the rural work according to the scientific concept of development. Also, it is the basicway and important measures to increase the income of farmers and improve overall capacityof agricultural production.Compared with the traditional agriculture, the remarkable characteristics of modernagriculture is the extensive application of modern science and technology, especially thehigh-tech, such as the modern engineering technology, biotechnology and informationtechnology and so on. In addition, the advanced production machinery and equipmentprovided by modern industry and management approach are also playing a significant role inmodern agriculture development. To some extent, it is a great revolution and progress totraditional agriculture. Obviously, the innovative and practical agricultural science andtechnology achievement has become the key factor to the development of modern agriculture.Hence, the concrete demand for science and technology and the corresponding policy systembecome the worth researching topic, which is also the important bases and starting point forthis research choice.The whole thesis is composed of five chapters. Chapter One is an introduction to thethesis, mainly talking about the theoretical base, the significance of the research, and the research status at home and abroad. Chapter Two is involved in a study on basic issues, likethe history of agricultural development, the significance of developing modern agriculture andthe domestic and foreign agricultural development situations.
