Agriculture plays a pivotal role in human activities, the level of agricultural production is related with farmers’ living standards and the rapid development of a region. In order to meet the growing demand for the production of agricultural products, human increase investment in agriculture, however, with the rapid agricultural development of one-sided pursuit of economic efficiency and quality in agriculture, it is produced the negative impact in processes of agricultural inputs and the use of agricultural resources, such as the excessive use of fertilizers is not only waste money and cause agglomeration of agricultural land, but also decline soil fertility and destruct agricultural ecosystem. How to evaluate the status of a regional agro-ecosystems reasonably and forecast future trends has become an important research content, is related with the reasonably healthy development of a region’s agro-ecosystems.This paper uses the eco-energy theory and the emergetic ternary diagrams to analyze agro-ecological systems of Youyang in2003-2012, which reveals the true state of the system’s energy value and logistics, etc., the true value of the presence of material and energy input and output, to reveal major structural problems of agro-ecosystems and agro-ecosystems function in the process of economic development, and to predict its direction, appropriate to put forward suggestions and countermeasures to solve. The study of Youyang sustainable agricultural development, has great diversity of non-karst region in agricultural sustainability of agricultural ecosystems, and far-reaching significance of serious sustainable Development in southwest karst rocky desertification area.There are specific conclusions as follows:The trend of the total investment value of agricultural ecosystems was relatively large fluctuations. In renewable energy value of environmental resources, sunshine hours and rainfall present a trend of relatively large fluctuations. The value of non-renewable environmental resources can be rendered as an upward trend; renewable organic energy can be declined; non-renewable energy industrial can be increased rapidly to56.41percent during the decade. With analysis of Emergy input, renewable environmental resources plays a leading role in agricultural production in Youyang, although the value of renewable environmental energy resources was declined, and economic value of the feedback can be increased, but the ratio of economic value of the feedback still does not exceed renewable environmental resources. This is mainly because Youyang is in a slow transition of traditional agricultural production, there are still some "dependent on revenue" land and is relatively backward in agricultural production, is in slow development, will be more problems, it should increase value of economic Feedback to adapt to the market economy. At the same time, it should pay attention to the ecological environment to develop mutually promotion and harmonious.Its output of total energy value of agricultural ecosystems is a rising trend from2003to2012. Animal husbandry and farming are in domination, energy value of animal husbandry is in growing trend, but its proportion of total energy output value accounted for by the2003’s77.82%down to76.66%, and the value of farming is raised slowly in2003to2012years, but the ratio of its share in total energy output value from2003’s21.03%down to19.71%. Development speed of forestry and fisheries has increased, and its total energy value of the proportion gradually increased, which has a larger space for development. Although Youyang use their mountainous, terrain characteristics to adjust agricultural structure in recent years, but it still can not change the importance of animal husbandry and farming.Through analyzed the value of emergy investment ratio, emergy self-sufficiency rate, the value of yield ratio, environmental carrying capacity and per capita output other indicators in YouYang, its agricultural eco-economic system is currently semi-subsistence agriculture economy, which is rich in natural resources, but is relatively low level of agricultural development; overall functionality of the system was higher than the national average, but lower than the average level in Chongqing; its resilience and self-production capacity is relatively low, but the potential is relatively large; agricultural production is gradually increased in the modernization of factors, but is the lack of market competitiveness of agricultural products; per capita output is growing means that farmers’ living standards and production efficiency has been improving but use of land is relatively inefficient. So it should increase investment in science and technology to improve human efficiency and the rational use of fertilizers and pesticides, and promote the development of modern agriculture, improve the efficiency of their land and local agricultural ecological environment to contribute to the sustainability use of local agricultural.Through analyzed resource line, sensitive lines and sustainable lines with ternary diagrams in Youyang, it predicts the future direction of agricultural systems, which adopts resource efficiency and protection environmental and other measures on the basis of current development, and develops appropriate approach to its future direction should be updated in accordance with sensitive environmental resources line continues to move forward and to develop, and it should be able to guarantee the stability of between the economic value of feedback ratio and non-renewable environmental resources to improve the utilization of the economic value and ease of use of non-renewable environmental resources intensity to improve the development and gradually into the path of sustainable development.
